Course Description: This course is designed for high-intermediate ESL students. The class will study actual native English speakers, not actors, talking in real life situations. Students will engage in communicative activities, such as role playing, to sharpen both speaking and listening skills.
Course Goal: Students will develop their competence in listening to and comprehending authentic English in genuine contexts.
Course Objective: Students will practice listening to real native English speakers with the aim of identifying main ideas, details, inferences and language structures. They will practice speaking in order to explore their existing knowledge and attitudes about a variety of themes.
Student Learning Outcome: Students will be able to comprehend and draw conclusions from the speech of native English speakers in real world situations.
