Course Description: This course is designed for advanced ESL students. It presents new themes and updated content from a variety of genres.  Students will be called upon to think critically and use utilizes academic skills such as inferencing, synthesizing, and note taking. Students will also develop their writing proficiency through enhanced composition sections.

Course Goal: Students will develop their competence in reading and writing in various rhetorical modes.
                       
Course Objective:  Students will practice reading both literature and academic selections and writing critically about same.

Student Learning Outcome:  Students will be able to read academic level texts and literary pieces and write analytically about what they have read.
